Discover the best of Pembrokeshire from the water

There are few better ways to experience Pembrokeshire than from a sea kayak.

Over a handful of days, you can explore wild cliffs, quiet bays, offshore islands and some of the most spectacular coastline in Wales – often seeing places that simply aren’t accessible from land.

Our Pembrokeshire Sea Kayaking Holidays are designed for people who want more than a few hours on the water.

Small groups. Beautiful coastlines. Proper sea kayaking. And the time to slow down and enjoy it.

Whether you’d like to explore the best of the Pembrokeshire coast from a comfortable base, discover its offshore islands and wildlife, paddle a collection of classic journeys, or take on the challenge of an end-to-end expedition, there’s a trip for you.

Small groups. Big days. Unforgettable coastlines.

We’ve deliberately kept these holidays small.

Each 2027 departure has a maximum of just four guests, accompanied by one experienced Mayberry guide.

That means we can keep things personal and flexible rather than running a large group to a rigid itinerary.

The sea always has the final say.

Weather, swell, wind and tides can all influence where we paddle. Rather than fighting the conditions to stick to a predetermined route, we’ll use our local knowledge and experience to find the best possible adventure each day.

That’s one of the great advantages of travelling with a small, experienced group.

Why kayak Pembrokeshire?

Pembrokeshire is made for sea kayaking.

The coastline is remarkably varied. One day you’re paddling beneath towering limestone cliffs; the next you’re exploring a sheltered bay, crossing open water to an island or drifting quietly alongside a seal.

There are dramatic headlands, caves, arches, beaches and offshore islands scattered along the coast.

And then there’s the wildlife.

Seals are regular companions. Depending on the time of year and where we paddle, we may encounter porpoises, dolphins, gannets, choughs, peregrines and huge colonies of seabirds.

But it’s not just about ticking off landmarks.

Sometimes the best part of a day is simply stopping for a while.

A coffee on a beach. Watching seals in the water. Exploring a cave. Sitting quietly beneath the cliffs. Or just enjoying the feeling of being somewhere that can only really be appreciated from the sea.

More than a guided trip

We’ve been kayaking around Pembrokeshire for many years.

That means you aren’t simply following a guide around a pre-planned route.

We know the coast, the tides, the weather and the places that are worth stopping for.

And because our groups are small, we can adapt.

If the conditions are perfect for somewhere special, we’ll make the most of it.

If the sea has other ideas, we’ll find somewhere else.

The aim isn’t to prove anything.

It’s to have a fantastic week on the water.

Who are these holidays for?

These aren’t beginner courses.

They’re designed for paddlers who already have some sea-kayaking experience and are comfortable spending full days on the water.

You don’t need to be an elite paddler – far from it – but you should be happy paddling for several hours at a time and have enough experience to cope with a variety of sea conditions.

Each holiday has its own character and level of commitment, so read the individual trip descriptions carefully.

If you’re not sure which one is right for you, get in touch and we’ll happily talk it through.

Small by design

For 2027 each departure is limited to four guests.

That’s intentional.

We want these trips to retain the friendly, personal atmosphere that Mayberry is known for rather than becoming another large commercial group.

It also gives us much more flexibility to make sensible decisions about the weather and conditions.

If we decide that a particular stretch of coast isn’t right on a given day, we can change plans without having to move a large group around.
